Design Story
"Incarnation of the Shén Nǚ " (神女的新衣) is inspired by the imagery where "the end of form gives birth to the spirit." It draws upon the ancient concept of Dù Xíng (渡形)—a transient state rather than an eternal posture, existing in the very moment of dissipation, like an epiphyllum blooming at midnight or a jade rabbit dissolving into shadow.
The collection is rooted in a fictional legend: two girls transformed into the Dusk and Frost Rabbits to steal the heavenly fragrance, transcending from physical form into spiritual essence. In the 1001 Summer 2025 series, we continue our exploration of overlapping materials and textures. In collaboration with Qiao, we delve into the intertwining of Eastern and Western aesthetics. Using garments as vessels to hold both metamorphosis and constancy, we seek to capture the moment not in the perfection of form, but at the threshold of its collapse.
